Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) manuals and guides have been updated for the 2024–2025 school year. Included in each manual and guide is a table of changes. Links to each manual and guide can be found on individual state pages on the DLM website.
Test updates
On Thursday, July 25, Educator Portal will be unavailable while the Kite® team applies annual upgrades and performance enhancements. Please contact the Kite Service Desk for any questions or assistance. Contact methods can be found in the footer on each page.
The Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) provides Individual Student Score Reports for students who completed the DLM alternate assessment during the previous school year. Score reports communicate achievement within grade-level content standards to educators, parents, and others.
After a student completes the required number of testlets in a subject, the student may receive a field-test testlet. Field tests are critical to the production of high-quality operational assessments. Teachers administer field tests to evaluate item quality for the assessed linkage levels of Essential Elements.
Before launching Kite® Student Portal, please ensure that the iPad has an established internet connection. A restart of the iPad and the quit password may be required if the application opens without a connection to the internet.

For states participating in the Instructionally Embedded model, the Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) spring assessment window opens February 5, 2024. Please consult specific state pages for testing window dates.
This is a reminder for test administrators to prepare for the Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) alternate assessment spring window for the 2023–2024 academic year. Test administrators must complete the steps in the following list before administering the assessment to students:
Educators with the Teacher role should access Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) Required Test Administrator Training in the training section of Kite® Educator Portal for the 2023–2024 school year.
The Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) Instructionally Embedded (IE) model fall window closes on December 22, 2023. The DLM Instructionally Embedded Window will re-open for the spring on February 5, 2024.
