Student currently uses gestures and vocalizations (or other “verbal” speech) to act on or orient him/herself toward both a person and the topic of communication at the same time
DCPS Pre‐Intentional/Intentional Behavior Learner (xlsx)
A student who currently uses reflexive behaviors to express a change in an internal/physiological state. Communicative partner interprets student’s behaviors. Student’s current behaviors are intentional, but not intentionally communicative. Behaviors may serve a communicative function. Student operates directly on objects and people.
